Vascular Dementia

Vascular Dementia

Vascular Dementia

Cup the ends of once vivid memories,
count your flowers of death
saying un-similar sacred amens,
then bend or just simply forget
with this underground dementia
that sacrifices bliss,
buries breathes in unbecoming busyness
as a mantra creeps and crawls in
repeating ‘I want to live’
transform stakes of sadness
into finding those lost friends,
yes, to open up this heart
as similes of solemn empathy
pour hope in rainbow blues
with cues for each precious moment
stored in treasure chest recollections,
those cups and ruts of heaven.
